Gaslight Details & FAQ's

Important Details

Gaslight Inn is open year round. Advance registrations are advisable. Here are the important details to keep in mind:

  • A deposit equal to (1) one night's room rate is required with your reservation.
  • Rates start at $98.00 per night double occupancy, long-term and off-season rates are available.
  • Payment can be made by personal check, MasterCard, American Express, or VISA. Cash payment is encouraged.
  • Notice of cancellation or change in the length of your stay must be given (7) seven days prior to your arrival date or your deposit is forfeited.
  • Check-in time is between 3:00 and 6:00 pm unless otherwise arranged. In these cases, it is important to make us aware of any change to your arrival time so we can be on hand to welcome you to Gaslight Inn.
  • Office closes at 6:00 pm.
  • Check-out is at 11:00 am.

  1. Do you have pets?
  2. Yes, we have a beautiful black labrador named Frannie and a yellow tabby cat named Gus. They both are usually outside but never are allowed above the main floor. Since our pets are egomaniacs, we unfortunately cannot accommodate any other pets.

  3. What is your cancellation policy if we should need to change our plans?
  4. To avoid a penalty of a 1-night charge, we require you to notify us at least seven days prior to your arrival date of those changes.

  6. We are sorry but we strictly enforce our policy of No Smoking.

  7. What time is check-in? What are your hours for arrival?
  8. We expect you to arrive during the time that was agreed upon when you made your reservation - not early and not late. If problems arise in you travel plans, We certainly understand that but we expect the courtesy of a call to inform us of your changes. Please keep in mind our office closes at 6:00PM Pacific Time.

  9. Where are you located? How far are you from downtown, from the airport?
  10. Guests, we are conveniently located on Capitol Hill, Seattle's most exciting neighborhood that also happens to be closest to the center of the city - Westlake Center (15 blocks). Seattle is 20 minutes North from the airport. You can walk downtown or take the #10 Metro bus.

  11. Do any of your rooms have two beds?
  12. No they don't . . . all of our 8 rooms have just one bed. Some are doubles but most are queen sized beds. We only allow 2 people per room.

  13. What do you serve for breakfast?
  14. Our continental breakfast features coffee, juice, fruit, scones, and croissants. It will get your day in Seattle off to a great start!

  15. Is your pool heated?
  16. We guarantee the pool will be heated from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Guests find a dip in our pool is a great way to relax.

  17. When do you change the room linens?
  18. Naturally, you check in and find fresh, clean room linens. As part of an ongoing, regional effort to conserve water, we change the linens every fourth morning.

  19. Is there a place to park?
  20. Standard neighborhood street parking is available for our rooms. For those needing parking beyond the 2-hour neighborhood parking, there is a parking lot conveniently located just one block from Gaslight Inn.

  21. Do you ever do parties, receptions, or small gatherings?
  22. No, sorry we don't. The Gaslight Inn is a small, intimate space for use by our guests.

  23. Can you recommend fun excursions we might take while in the area?
  24. While visiting the Evergreen State, your plans really should include a visit to the beautiful San Juan Islands. It is just a 2-hour drive plus a 45 minute ferry ride to whole different world and our new intimate & private getaway. Nestled in the woods on Lopez Island is the Nowak House. This cozy treasure would be all yours: truly a relaxing, quality escape to enjoy. The Nowak House is situated at the South end of Lopez Island, where you can savor a sweeping view to MacKaye Harbor.   25. Are your rooms air conditioned?
  26. Unaided by air conditioning, this turn of the century home remains comfortable throughout the summer months. Western Washington's mild climate rewards us with an environment free of the noise produced by an air conditioning system.

  27. Will I have access to the internet while staying at the Gaslight Inn?
  28. The gaslight offers High Speed Wi-Fi to all it's guests at no extra charge. Details will be provided when you check-in or you can find the information in your information booklet provided in your room.

  29. Is the Gaslight Inn a kid friendly Bed and Breakfast?
  30. Unfortunately due to the extensive art collection, unsupervised pool and koi pond, the Gaslight Inn is an adult facility only.
